Early AM Update
I was up pumping and decided to call and check on Drew. One of the nurses who was at his birth was taking care of him last night/this morning. She couldn't get over how much Drew has progressed in just one week. He weighs 5lbs 6.8oz...a 1/2oz gain from yesterday. They were going to pull his feeding tube last night, but Drew had done it himself. Whoops! She said that he must really be ready to fly the coop! The nurse tried the Calma nipple last night and Drew took his full feeding in 20 minutes. The next feeding she tried a regular flow full term nipple and Drew finished in 10 minutes with very little spillage. Wow! She said she would try the Calma again at 5am. I told her that Drew should be circumcised this morning. She said they would take Drew upstairs to the regular term nursery for that....a little field trip. :) I'm not sure if my doctor will come over for that or if one on call for the group will perform the circ. We will see. Poor little bear! His nurse said she didn't think he would be discharged today, that it would probably be tomorrow. Anyway, it will be in the next few days. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Praise the Lord! Thank you all for your prayers and support....that is what is carrying us through.
