Almost One!

Sam is 11 1/2 months old! He will be a year in less than 2 weeks! We weighed him on Saturday and he now weighs 25 pounds. He has outgrown his jumper-roo, so we let him bounce in it one last time before putting it up in the attic. Another baby toy retired. :) He enjoyed a few bites of Mommy's cereal while jumping awayfor the last time. He enjoyed his first real milk experience. Sam's Grandpa, Uncle Mark, and cousins Cole and Cooper visited on Sunday. We went out for lunch and had a ball. Sam even got to order off the menu....what a big boy! We had a nice visit to the park. So much fun! It's our new fun thing to do as a family. Even Daddy had fun going down the slide with Sam. Sam is talking so much. This past week he has been trying to say the dog's names. Georgia sounds like Or-ja, and Yankee sounds like A-kee.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Sunday was a fun day for us as a family. We woke up and exchanged cards and hugs and kisses. :) We gave Sam some bubbles and a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse CD. He is used to hearing the songs and then seeing the images on the tv. It was so funny when we put the CD in for Sam....he was looking everywhere for the tv! He lights up when he hears the songs...so cute! Sam has been saying a lot of new words lately. He's not just making noises anymore, he is deliberately saying a few things. He can say: a duck, Daddy, Granddad, Yeah God, Dog. We are trying to get him to say please but it ends up sounding more like a grunt. :) We'll keep working on that one. Sam has graduated out of his baby whale tub. I bought him a cute inflatable duck tub, but he didn't want anything to do with that. It now serves as another toy tub in the playroom. We finally got him comfortable enough to sit in the big tub. He likes playing with his numbers and letters. He also likes standing up in the tub...which scares me to death. Daddy lets him do that more than Mommy. Last night we had a first during bathtime.....a BM in the tub! I've had friends tell me that happens to them all the time, but this was a 1st for us. Maybe it won't happen again. Sam is very set in his bedtime routine....just like a big boy. We do bathtime, bottle, story, prayers, songs, and then it's off to bed. Some nights he may fuss a bit, but for the most part he goes right down. We moved his bedtime up 30 minutes, and then Sam moved his wake up time to 30 minutes earlier. Oh well, it ends up working out for all of us.

11 Months Old

Sam turned 11 Months over the weekend. He still weighs right under 25 pounds, and he is measuring 31 inches. He is into EVERYTHING! Our lives are changing each day. :) Sam has 6 teeth now...and I think 1 more is about to poke through. We have had two snow days since my last post.....definitely not typical weather here. Sam has enjoyed playing in it...but he really loves watching the dogs run around in it. Sam got his "ears lowered"...as my dad says...this weekend. He was getting a little rough around the ears, so Daddy got the clippers out and cleaned him up a bit. We got another great hand me down from my friend Ms. Kati....a train table. Sam loves it! He walks all around it. He enjoys moving back and forth between it and other pieces of furniture. Speaking of furniture, we have found that Sam can get off of the couch without help. Yikes...this kid is getting mighty brave.
