Sunday Supper
Nick and I are trying out a new thing that may turn into a little family tradition....Sunday Supper. Now we always have dinner at home on Sunday, but Sunday Supper would be be out of the ordinary, extra special, and a little over the top. Tonight, I prepared my 1st whole chicken....cutting it up and all. I had a little over the phone tutorial from my mama yesterday and I looked it up online for some more pointers. Anyway, it wasn't as hard as I thought. Preparing chicken has never been one of my favorites because I feel like I'm slinging salmonella all over my kitchen and I have to wash my hands a gazillion times. Remarkably, the chicken ended up being very good....not my mama's chicken good, but very good for a first try. I paired it with collard greens (another 1st for me), mac and cheese, tri-color beans, and corn muffins. Sunday Supper was a big hit. We'll see what I come up with for next week. :)
