Quick Trip
The boys and I made a quick trip to Fancy Farm this morning. We left about 8am to make it to a funeral. My grandmother's baby sister, Julia Merle, died this week after as long battle with cancer. After reading the obituary and seeing my grandmother's name, I felt very strongly that I needed to go. I didn't know Julia very well, but I do remember my grandmother telling stories and referring affectionately to her as her baby sister. I also remember Julia and another one if my grandmother's sisters coming to tuck her into bed the night my granddaddy died. We all piled on the bed and listened to my grandmother and her sisters tell stories of long ago. I am so glad I found energy somewhere to make that drive today. It was so wonderful to see aunts and uncles. The boys did so well! They really enjoyed getting hugs and kisses....and candy from loved ones. :) We made a stop by the cemetery before leaving town to pay respect to the graves of my grandparents. The boys were exhausted and didn't make it out of the county before falling fast asleep.
