Fun with Grandmother and Granddad

Look Grandmother, this is how the doggies eat! (Clean bowl that Sam plays with...not the dogs.)

Chatting with Grandmother.

Playing with Granddad's watch.

Eating fruit snacks.

Granddad and Grandmother came over today to play and to eat some lunch with us. They are having some major Sam withdrawals. They used to see little man everyday....now they are down to a visit every weekend or so. We had a great visit! Sam always enjoys showing off his new tricks. :)

Enjoying the Weekend

Wake up Daddy, I need to comb your hair.

Excuse me Daddy, can you wake up?

Look, no hands!

Stinky face :)

Rocka-by Sammy!

Sam still enjoys watching Mickey Mouse.

We are enjoying the weekend. It's always nice to get a little extra sleep and to move a little slower getting ready. Nick was busy this morning doing some more baby proofing to the house. Sam has been obsessed with taking all of the contents of our drawers out. Well, we have a lot of not so safe items in our drawers. So now Sam can't get in them with the baby latches. Sam has also been doing a lot of climbing. This morning, he pulled a chair out from the kitchen table and dumped a cup of coffee. Luckily the coffee had been sitting there for some time, so Sam was not burned. The cup did break everywhere.....but no one was cut. We are looking forward to a visit from Grandmother and Granddad later today.

17 1/2 Months Old...

My mommy made me some pretend coffee.

Stirring my cup....just like Mommy. :)

Tastes good!

These pictures are in the reverse order....Watch me go from oh so messy, to not so bad. :)

As you can see......I love spaghetti!

Getting better and better at feeding myself with a spoon.

Sometimes hands are just easier.

This is before all the mess occurs.

Happy Birthday Grandmother!

Ice cream.....yum!

Laying still while my ear drops go in my ear.

Look at my mountain of couch cushions.

Stinky face!

I look so cute here....what's really sad is I fell right after Mommy snapped the pic!

Havin' some fun with Mommy.

Time for a rest.

Look how long my hair is getting.

This is my sweet as pie face.

This is my serious face....is it working?

Mr. Sam is 17 and a half months old. He has been getting used to school the past 3 weeks. Last week, his school created new room for Sam's age group. Over the past few weeks they have been slowly making changes at school...moving the bigger kids to their appropriate rooms to make room for incoming itty-bittys. Monday started week 4 for him. I think he is handling this new change pretty good. The new routine has taken some getting used to for sure. Our evenings are very busy. Sam has been fussy when he gets home from school. After a few crazy evenings, I think we have figured out how to make our nights more peaceful and fun. One thing that helps is getting Sam moving with his new favorite CD. It includes "The Wheels on the Bus" and "I'm a Little Teapot." One good thing about school is all the new things Sam is learning. He now picks up toys and cleans up more readily. He will even help wipe his face off. They must dance a lot at school too. That is Sam's all time favorite thing right now. He is getting bigger and bigger. When he sits in his highchair, you can really tell his size. He used to be so small in it. His weight is somewhere between 29-30 pounds. It has remained pretty steady since he turned a year. His height has changed a lot more than his weight. I would say he is about 33-35 inches now. We will have to measure him again soon. His feet look so big to me. He is wearing a size 6 now in shoes. All his little socks barely fit anymore. We will be doing some major shopping in the coming weeks to get ready for fall. We really made do with bare necessities this summer. Until next time friends!

Good Bye Summer

This has been a GREAT summer!  We saw lots of people and did lots of fun things.  Here are some pictures from the past few weeks.  Sam is having a smooth transition into school and so am I.  SCS start this Monday. I feel extremely blessed to be at this school.  This was a scary time last year....not having a job yet.  There will be many challenges this year, but I am so excited and ready to begin this new journey.  Nick's job is going great too.  We saw our neighbor's sweet new born again tonight.....it has me reminiscing over the past year and a half.  Wow, our life was quite different a year and a half ago.  Look how much has changed in that short amount of time.  I wonder what the next year and a half will bring.  I will enjoy today while we still have today....and leave tomorrow where it belongs.

Almost 17 Months Old and Starting School

Sam will be 17 months old on Friday. Our summer officially came to an end today......I started in-service and he started preschool. Today was our Little Sam's 1st day of school. So here's the story....we toured the center several times and Sam was his normal self.....happy and ready to play. Long story short...I took too long talking to the teacher this morning and Sam cried when I left. This broke my heart into a million pieces! I got all teary eyed and then had no choice but to head to the car. I got a little cry out in the car on the way to school....and a tiny cry out at school. All in all, I got it together and learned that drop-off has to be done faster than what we did this morning. I also learned that Sam is a bit more unpredictable than I thought. I also learned that saying good-bye...even see you laters are not always so easy. Tomorrow is another day and I think Sam and I both will be ready. By the way, he did awesome today. He ate all his meals and laid down for nap all by himself...just because the other kids were doing it. They lay on cots....such a big boy. I have a ton more pictures to post...I hope to get them up soon.
