Day Two

During the night, Mommy checked on me and I was off the vent.  I spent less than 12 hours on it and then was able to get these nasal prongs.  I am breathing room air with 4 liters of high flow....the prongs push the room air into me so I can saturate the oxygen better.  Look at the treat I got for being off the vent...my 1st paci!

Check out my full head of dark hair.

I even have a fuzzy back and shoulders.  :)

Sleeping so good.

Tummy Time!

Because I am doing so well on the high flow of room air, I got to have some snuggle time with Mommy.  This is called kangaroo care....skin to skin contact.  My nurse says this is the best medicine in the NICU.

So warm!

I love my paci!  the nurse says this means I may be ready for a bottle soon.

I was having a hard time keeping my paci in, so Daddy helped me out.

Thanks Daddy!

Daddy was about to take Mommy home.  She was being discharged from the hospital.

Trying to open my sweet eyes.  :)

A few more pics from my snuggle time with Mommy.

I know that heart beat.

Don't leave Mommy.  Let's keep snuggling.  :)

Can I snuggle Daddy next?

I'll be good Daddy.

Kiss, kiss.  Tell my big brother I can't wait to meet him.

**Due to RSV season, NICU patients may only be visited by parents and grandparents.  Sam and Drew will have to wait to meet each other.  RSV is a very serious disease that can be fatal to babies.  The season ends at the end of the month.  No hugs or kisses from anyone in the NICU except Mommy and Daddy.  When we get Drew home....hopefully before the end of the month, we will be very cautious with visitors.  Please forgive us for being careful with our Drew.  :)
