Slow Moving Saturday

We stayed up late last night watching the Tiger game at our friends' house. It was nice to sleep in until 8am....yes, that's sleeping in at our place. :) We have been moving slow this morning.  That is so nice for a change. The boys have been playing together and separately. We look forward to what the rest of this bright sun-shiny weekend brings.

Drew's New Classroom

Drew has had lots of new things happen this week. He is enjoying his new classroom.  He loves his teachers and so do we. Drew has completely refused to eat another bite of baby jar food. He observes his friends eating all sirts of neat new things. He wants those things too. Actually, he has been a bit of a food thief this week. Whoever sits next to him at the table has had food come up missing. Ha! He has sampled lots of new table foods this week. We now send him to school with 3 bottles, a cup, and lots of self feed foods. His teacher has been encouraging him to use his cup more often. He still prefers his bottle but he will drink out of a cup. He'll get there. He has been eating peas, blueberries, oranges, peaches, cereal bars, raviolis, jelly sandwiches, oatmeal, and cheese to name a few items. These are all self feed items. Also new this week,  Drew takes a nap on a mat! The first day he required a lot of back patting but he lays right down now. Crazy! Drew paints and does really cool crafts daily. Recess is his favorite time of the day...followed by mealtime.  :) He has to wear shoes every day now. I forgot on Tuesday, so we keep a pair of shoes in his diaper bag now. Drew's a big kid now. :(

Drew Graduated

We walked into the baby room at Drew's school today and his cubby was gone. His teacher told us last week was gonna be Drew's last week in the baby room...well he missed last week for spring break.  So today was his first permanent day in the next classroom.  There are lots of new exciting changes in the new room. He will start sleeping on a mat at nap time.  He'll have a set lunch time and snack times with his friends.  He will go outside to the playground on most days. My sweet baby has recess! He will be drinking more from a big boy cup and less out of a bottle. Sam was so sweet...after we dropped Drew off he wondered if he would be happy in his new class. As we left school and headed to Drew's school for pick up,  Sam said he couldn't wait to see how his brother's day went. So sweet! Drew seemed to have a great day, but he was very clingy when we got home. He had to make sure he was still the baby at home...even though he's becoming quite a big boy at school. :)

We ♥ the Zoo!

Movie Theater

Nick left work early and met us at the movie theater.  We saw a very cute movie. We highly recommend it to children of all ages. :)

Sweet Brothers Playing

These boys. Look at the sweet moment I came upon this morning.  Big brother was taking a break from cleaning up his art room to entertain little brother. I gave Sam a toilet paper cardboard to help me baby proof the playroom. He loved the idea of checking the room for choking hazards. If the toy falls through the roll, we have to put it in a special spot that Drew can't get to...for a while. That Drew is fast and EVERYTHING goes in his mouth these days. Thank goodness Sam is not into too many toys with small parts yet.

Fun Times at the Park

Grandmother braved some pretty chilly weather with us yesterday.  We had a great time at the park and even ordered some lunch from the food truck on site.
