Happy Birthday Mommy!

We celebrated Mommy's birthday this weekend.  First we went to Panera Bread for some breakfast.  Yummy!  Then we headed to the Farmer's Market for a little produce shopping.  Next we went shopping for some comfy shoes for Mommy...tennis shoes and house slippers.  After shoe shopping, it was time to head home for a rest and Mommy got her weekly shot.  Daddy knocked out our grocery list while I was napping.  When Daddy got home, we got ready to head to dinner at Bone Fish Grill.  Mommy and I both got grilled tilapia.  Daddy got chicken....since Mommy is still not up for it.  We did some window shopping to work up an appetite for dessert.  We got dessert at Sheritan's Frozen Custard.  What a fun day!  Happy Birthday Mommy!

After church on Sunday, we headed to Grandmother and Granddaddy's house for lunch.

It was nice to see everyone.

Checking out Gracie's game.

I'm hoping Josh will let me play his trumpet.

Some of the girls.  :)  Moments after taking this picture,  we noticed Uncle Dave and Granddaddy walking up the street.  We noticed Uncle Dave and another man running up to a house up the street and banging on the doors.  Next we saw the flames.  A house caught on fire a few houses up from where we were.  It took 3 engines almost 4 hours to completely extinguish the flames.  I saw police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and all sorts of commotion outside.  Mommy walked me outside for a moment, but when we started smelling smoke, we headed inside.  No one was injured in the fire, but the house was a total loss.  Mommy and I said a prayer of thanksgiving for no injuries and a prayer that the firemen would be safe as they worked.

Matthew came inside to play for a while.

I pulled a book off of Grandmother's shelf about a fire dog.  Grandmother said I listened very nicely.

Lots of neighbors gathered around to make sure everyone was okay.  After we knew the fire was out, Mommy walked me up the street to check out the hoses and trucks.  Fireman Dusty came over to tell me how hard they worked.  He looked tired.  I told the firemen that I prayed for them and they said that was why they stayed safe.
