Amazing Nature

We went hiking today and had a blast. The weather was significantly cooler today than the past two. That's okay, we just bundled up. We fed geese, ducks, and turtles....mostly  geese though....man are they aggressive! There were so many super cool things we found in nature. Grace found an owl pellet and proceeded to discect it. (Owls swallow their food whole and throw it up so they can digest it again before throwing up and out the bones and fur....yuck, but cool too.) Josh found a cool vine to swing from...scary but totally awesome. We really enjoyed taking in the newly blooming trees and flowers. It's amazing that we had snow just 2 weeks ago. It was different seeing the nature park at this time of the year. We are usually there several times throughout the summer. So much fun!

Z is for Zoo

We had a wonderful visit to the zoo today! The weather was beautiful again. We saw lots of animals, tons of people in their green, a leprechaun zoo docent, a flock of nuns, and several teachers and students from school. You never know who you'll see at the zoo. Ha! We will definitely be back again soon. We ♡ the zoo!!!

Green Day

We are gearing up for all things green today. Poor Sam had an accident as we were taking a walk last night. I had Drew in the stroller and Yankee on the leash. Sam was about 3 yards ahead of us. Believe it or not, he wasn't running at all. Poor baby tripped because of the incline. He fell hard. :( He busted his knees and elbow too. Nick had to come get him in the truck. He slept well last night and is in mighty good spirits this morning. What a big brave boy!

Biking

We got the bikes out on Sunday. We rode around in a parking lot with plenty of space and not a lot of hills. Sam and I ended up riding home from where we were. So much fun!

All Snuggly

I caught these two all cute and snuggled on the chair on Saturday.

Sam to the Rescue

Sam saved a handful of worms that were wriggling on the driveway. He moved them safely to the flower bed. What a brave boy!

Mighty Proud

This little guy is mighty proud of himself. He climbed out of his crib tonight for the first time. I was waiting outside the door because he was still crying after I laid him down. It had only been maybe 2 minutes and I heard him climb out. He was scared when his feet hit the floor...I was too. He did not hurt himself....thank goodness! What in the world Drew Asher! Big brother never climbed out. So I think we are going to try to transition our sweet little baby to a big boy bed over spring break. I really was hoping to make it until summer but I guess that's out now that he knows he can get out. I'm having a hard time remembering going through this time period with Sam. I know we'll make it through but I don't feel ready at all. Ready or not, here comes our big boy. :(

One More Month of One

Drew is 23 months old! We're going through what we hope is a phase. He has  been crying when we lay him down to bed. At first we thought maybe he didn't feel good or that his gums were hurting....his bottom molars are about out to break through. We've come to the conclusion that he's pretty much playing us.  :) If I put him to bed, he asks for Nick. If Nick puts him to bed, he'll ask for me. Tonight, we both put him to bed and he asked for Sam. Ha! He only cried for 10 minutes tonight, but it was absolutely heart wrenching. He broke me after 5 minutes last night and it took us like 5 tries over the next hour to get him to settle down. Ugh! The night before he ended up in the bed with us....little stinker! Please let this be a little phase. It's so hard to believe our little bear is about to turn 2! He's talking a lot now...in English mostly and a little Mandarin. He has a Mandarin teacher at school. New this week, Drew climbed out of his pack n play. We still use the pack n play when we are getting ready and need to corral Drew for a short amount of time. There went that short amount of time.....bummer. Drew is into Paw Patrol like his big brother now. So cute to watch them get excited when the show comes on and sing the theme song together. They both love listening to music and dancing. We caught him counting the other day. He knows 7, 8, 9, and 10. We'll have to work on 1-6. Ha! He is also attempting to say his ABCs. What smart little boy!
