Mommy & Sam...Playing Hooky

Well, not really...Sam and I both had doctor's appointments this morning. By the time we finished up, ran a few errands, and ate lunch, it was too late to go to school. We also took a tour of the school Sam will attend next year. Great school and a lot closer than where we are now. Sam is really excited! After our tour, we had time to catch a movie before Nick and Drew got home. What a fun day with my little guy!

Zoo for Drew

When Sam turned two, we made a visit to the zoo. We decided it would be fun to do the same for Drew. We all saw our favorite animals: Drew (pandas), Sam (bonobos & kimono dragons, me (bonobos and river otters), and Nick (bonobos and penguins). There were 3 baby bonobo monkeys on exhibit which were so fun to watch. The panda was outside which is a rare treat to see. We didn't spend more than about an hour or two there, but it was so much fun. Thanks Grandmother and Granddaddy for the birthday money...Drew bought a stuffed panda.

Two is Tough :)

I heard Drew stirring around midnight but he went back to sleep faster than I did. To pass the time, I scrolled back to 2013 on the blog and reminisced for about an hour. When I was just about ready to settle back in, little man knocked on our door. After looking at all those pictures of our little bitty Drew, I couldn't resist pulling him into our bed for some snuggle time. He didn't want to get up this morning. Our bed is pretty comfy! :) When he finally got up, we surprised him with donuts, confetti, balloons, and singing. He really likes the happy birthday song! Drew was the center of attention at school today. He smiled really big from being in the spotlight. He even started the singing of happy birthday to him a few times according to his teacher. Sam and I were very anxious to pick up our little guy this afternoon. We took him to a bakery and he chose some yummy flower cookies to share later tonight. We made a pit stop back at school for the dedication of a new garden. Then we were off to pick out balloons. Drew chose a Doc McStuffins, Sophia the 1st, and a plain happy birthday balloon. We had a quick bite at McDonald's and headed to the park. What a fun, full day! Happy 2nd Birthday Drew Asher! We have some more birthday fun planned for the weekend too. :)
