Nature, Oh Nature!

The past few times we've driven past the nature park, we've seen baby deer. Drew and I even saw a bigger doe while walking during Sam's soccer practice the other day. Because the weather is just beautiful today, we decided to go for a walk. As soon as we pulled up, we saw the deer. We were quiet and stayed on the path walking towards them. I can't believe they let us get as close as we did. We didn't chase them and did not make any sudden movements or loud noises. We just continued on the path and walked right past them. Wow, it was pretty amazing! We also saw a squirrel, which the boys loved...me, not so much. Ha! As we were leaving a big hawk type bird flew over...I definitely don't know much about big birds. What a close to God, close to nature afternoon!

Great Day

This guy had a great day at school. We swung by Sonic for a half price drink to celebrate.

The Zoo with Friends

Yesterday was a beautiful day at the zoo. Drew and I met some friends there. As always, we had a blast. We never tire of that place. :)

So Happy :)

Pet Shopping

....not really, just killing time before an appointment. They sure loved browsing through all the animals. No new pets for us. :)

Sunday Scones

So baking has really been my thing here lately. These chocolate chip coconut scones are becoming a favorite around here. I did forget to top them with toasted coconut....it's on the inside, just not on top. They still taste marvelous, but the coconut on top does make them a bit prettier. :) With all this baking, I'm going through flour fast. We used to buy flour once or twice a year. I've bought flour twice this month! It's been fun experimenting with the different types. I never knew flour could be so interesting. Ha!

Saturday Supper?

So it's looking like Sunday Supper may have to be Saturday Supper for awhile now because of Sam's rehearsals. We will see. We had scrumptious salmon patties with green beans and mac and cheese...nothing too fancy. Checkout the beautiful serving pieces I inherited from my Grandmother's house. Thirteen years ago, Nick and I didn't see the need for serving dishes when we registered. We are happy to receive these timeless hand me downs. I overshot the amount of mac and cheese needed; we'll be eating it for days...good thing it's one of Drew's favorites. :)

Love This Landscaping

Drew and I were out for a walk yesterday and I just had to take a picture of this lovely landscaping. I admire it each time we pass this house. It's simplistic and colorful, with clean lines. I love the pots of begonias. When the weather cools down, I may have to steal a few ideas from this. :)
