Father's Day 2013

We had a nice time at my parent's house today.  The whole crew was there...2 grandparents, 8 kids, 6 in-laws, and 17 grandchildren...33 people plus Jeremy's girlfriend. Sam and Drew took Daddy to eat at his favorite place for dinner. Fun day! We are very blessed to have Nicolas Sean Levin.  :)

*Correction: 13 out of 17 grandchildren present.  Deb's kiddos were with their father.

Oldest&Youngest Grandchild

Drew met my sister Kathy's family today. Jeremy is my parent's oldest grandchild and Drew is the youngest. He is #17!

Sweet Brothers

Little Drew has been full of smiles all morning.  He is even starting to make a noise that sounds like a laugh/giggle. So sweet! What's sweeter is seeing Sam's reaction to his little brother's new skills. Sweet, sweet boys!

Swing Time

Drew has been in his swing a few times but has not cared too much for it. We put him in it last night and he seemed to really enjoy it. I tried again today while making lunch...he loves the animals that spin.

Hands Off

We had a little "incident" this morning regarding the remote control.  I put a kid friendly show on for Sam so I could clean the kitchen.  Honestly,  most days the tv doesn't even come on in our house. We will let Sam watch every once in a while in small amounts. I usually send him to the play room to play when I need to get something done. Well I didn't this morning because his 4 wheeler is charging in that room. I just didn't think Sam could  play back there unsupervised and resist touching that toy. So I barely had the dishwasher unloaded when I hear the volume increase on the tv. We have been letting Sam control the volume when he watches tv and pause the show if he needs a potty break. So I go to check on Sam and the tv is on a rated R movie that he ordered for $7! What's crazy is how many buttons he had to successfully push to order it. So I called our cable provider and thankfully they removed the charge. She was walking me through putting a lock on our on-demand, but Drew needed me. I will call back when both kiddos are napping.  So we now have a hands-off policy regarding the remote control...or as Sam calls it "mote control" or "camote."

Brave Buddy

Well, we made it through the night. Drew was definitely sore and feeling the effects of the vaccinations. Thank goodness for Tylenol! That helped keep him more comfortable and controlled his fever. I'm exhausted but grateful that Drew didn't have any crazy side effects to the shots. He is slowly getting his appetite back. It warms my heart to see him resting so well now. I tried to take the band aids off last night, but Drew let me know he was not ready. With Sam's help, I got them off with no tears this morning. Sam sang to Drew as a distraction.  I can remember leaving the band aids on Sam too long and that made it more difficult to remove them.

Poor Drew

The four of us went to the pediatrician for Drew's 2 month check up. He did not like being weighed or measured AT ALL. Drew weighs 10 pounds 5 ounces and measures 21 1/2 inches. He is in the 10th percentile for weight and the 5th percentile for height. These measurements are on the standard growth curve NOT the preemie one. So although Drew has grown enough to graduate from the preemie scale, he is still a little bitty on the standard one. That's okay, he has his whole life to grow big...we are enjoying our little bitty baby while we can. :) Drew loved the doctor.  He didn't fuss during the whole exam. The doc was super impressed with Drew's neck and shoulder muscles. Sam told him it's because he drinks muscle milk. :) The doc said Drew's umbilical hernia is getting smaller and should go down soon. That was the case with Sam...somewhere between 3 and 4 months. Drew passed all his developmental tests with flying colors. He was so brave during the shots. Nick was near his head calming him while Sam talked to him. Thank goodness they were there. I would have been a mess if I had been there alone.  Drew has been extra pitiful this evening.  We're keeping him close to make sure he does well through the night. Poor little buddy!
