Drew's Due Date

Today was Drew's original due date. He is 6 weeks and 3 days old today. We weighed him this morning and he weighs 9 pounds and 5 ounces and measures 20.5 inches.  If I have time, we'll swing by the pediatrician for an official weigh-in. Since birth, Drew has grown almost 4lbs and 2.5 inches. Wow, imagine how big he may have grown in utero. Yikes! Praise the Lord for our sweet, healthy Drew and our wonderful little family if 4.

Eyelashes

Look how long Drew's eyelashes have grown!  He didn't have eyelashes 6 weeks ago. I guess that's a preemie thing because Sam didn't have eyelashes when he was born either. 

6 Weeks Old...yesterday

Drew turned 6 weeks old yesterday.  He weighs 8lbs 7oz...a 3lb gain since he was born.  We have noticed that Drew is a lot more alert these days. At times, he will stare at you and hold onto your every word. He also responds more with precious smiles. He seems to be going through a growth spurt....he nurses all the time and has been sleeping a lot. Drew has a touch of reflux. It's not bad enough to require meds at this time. We just have to make sure we get good burps out if him and keep him upright for about 10 minutes after feeding him. If we don't give him that digestion time, he gets uncomfortable and will spit up at times. The doctor also recommended elevating the head if Drew's crib. That seems to help too. The doc thinks he will outgrow the slight reflux he has in a few weeks once he's a little bigger. We count our blessings that this just a touch of reflux. We've heard horrible reflux stories from friends. Sam really enjoys his little brother. We are looking forward to having lots of fun this summer. Sam has 1 1/2 more days of school! 

Field Day 2013

Sam participated in his first ever field day this morning.  He had a blast going from station to station.  It was an extremely hot morning down on the field. We had to drink lots of water to stay cool. Sam said his favorite station was the one where they passed a wet sponge and got wet. I didn't get a good shot of that one...didn't want to get too close to the soakin' wet kids. :) Drew had great time with Grandmother.  She said he was a very good boy while we were gone.    

Sunday Fun Day

Today was the day I said was my due date....even though my doc said the 24th was supposed to be the big day. I thought the 24th was off the whole time. My ultrasound at 30 weeks even confirmed that Drew was measuring bigger than 30 weeks or my due date was off about a week. Anyway, I guess both dates were way off. Drew will be 6 weeks old on Tuesday.  When Nick weighed Drew this morning,  he weighed 8lbs 5oz.  Wonder if he'll hit the 9 pound mark by the 24th.
Sam and Drew had a good time lounging around in our bed this morning.  Sweet boys!

Worn Out!

Super Saturday

We have had so much fun today!  Sam wanted to go to the Pink Palace, so we got going bright and early this morning. We saw lots of cool things at the museum. Next, we headed to the zoo. Well everyone in Memphis seemed to have the same idea. It was WAY too crowded, so we decided we would go another day...maybe tomorrow.  Drew needed to eat, so we parked at Overton Park. Nick and Sam went exploring while Drew nursed in the car. Then it was time for the rest of us to eat some lunch.  Nick took us to Rockin' Dough Pizza Company.....yummy! Sam had a blast watching the guys throw dough. Now we are all pooped. We headed home for some rest. Who knows what else this beautiful day will bring.

Over the River and Through the Woods...

...to Grandmother's house we go.

Grandmother will be watching Drew on Monday so Nick and I can go to Sam's field day.  This will be the 1st time we've been away from Drew other than the NICU.  She wanted to get her hands on him before Monday so we came over for a visit.  :)

I would have been 39 weeks today.  Drew is approaching 9 lbs...he may already be there. We'll get on the scale with him soon.
