Off to the Zoo

The weather was just perfect for an outing to the zoo! We saw all our favorite animals. It's always exciting to see a panda in the outdoor exhibit and the red panda was out too. The zoo is gearing up for Zoo Boo, so we got a preview of some of the spooky things that we will see when we go. We've never been to the event, so we are super pumped to check it out.

Smoothies So Good!

We made smoothies this morning. We packed them with lots of goodness: 4 cups of spinach, 1.5 cups of blueberries, 1.5 cups of mango, 1 cup of OJ, .5 cup of yogurt, .5 cup of milk, and a scoop of love.    The whole thing was gone in moments. Well, not all of it...we poured about a cup of it into popsicle molds to enjoy later. :) Sam and Drew were so excited to see our pumpkin display with their art additions this morning.

Painting Pumpkins

We painted a few pumpkins tonight. It was really fun! We put on clothes that we didn't mind getting paint on and covered the table with paper. I was nervous our activity would quickly get out of control, but I was wrong. Drew was done after painting one, so he and Nick got some story time in while Sam and I continued. The paint washed off our hands and the brushes easily. I'm looking forward to seeing how they look after drying. Maybe we'll find something else to paint tomorrow. :)

Christmas Wish List

So we thought it would be fun to start getting an idea of what our little cherubs' hearts desired for Christmas this year. We headed to Toys R Us for some ideas. They both loved things that could be added to their pretend kitchen and Home Depot workshop. They both carried around fart noise making machines for long enough that I was starting to apologize as we walked past folks. Boys! There's a new super cool, super expensive karaoke machine that's out, but I think Nick and I were more impressed than they were. Ha! Of course they love the $400 riding toys...who wouldn't. :) Nick and I gathered a few ideas, but I think we are gonna have to keep brainstorming. I know the boys wouldn't mind hitting another toy store to help us compile more ideas. :)

Thumbs Up Y'all

These sweet boys helped me throw our dinner together this morning. It required some chill time, so I was determined to get it behind us before moving onto fun stuff. They really were a lot of help. Check out the size of the bowl...that's a two night meal. Double Score! It was really delicious! It's basically caesar salad with penne pasta. The ingredient that makes the homemade dressing pop is anchovies...who knew something so stinky could add so must depth and flavor.

Little Guy, Big Bed

Drew has been falling out of his bed quite a bit lately. We made the decision to transition him to a bigger bed. That crib as a daybed was just too small for him. He's a mover when he sleeps, and there just wasn't room to do that without ending up on the floor. I napped with him this afternoon, and he did fine. The room is quite bare now with just a bed and dresser. We moved the glider chair and changing table out to make room for the bed. We'll have to add some decorations to spiff it up a bit.

Fun with Friends

We had some friends over for dinner tonight. Our kiddos have so much fun with their kiddos! Drew and Sam both cried when they left. :( Maybe we'll plan an overnight camp out (like in the living room) for their next visit.

Don't Leave

These boys sure weren't ready to see Grandmother and Granddaddy go home. I think Drew was under the impression that they were spending the night. :)

Working on the Car

Check out how sweet Drew looks working on his car. He begged me to get in it the other day...I was able to make that happen tonight. Ha! Thank goodness I made it out. :)
