Sunday Supper 4

This is a few days old...whoops...better late than never! :) We had peppered pork medallions with barley and asparagus. It didn't turn out exactly how we thought. Someone accidentally bought 3 pounds of meat instead of one. How does that happen? I'll tell you how: 2 hours in the grocery store with 2 boys and a mama that are DONE...meat is our last stop. I'm trying to cut that two hours down...still haven't gotten that figured out yet. Anyway, we had leftovers for sure with this meal and we're off of pork for a while. Ha!

This Boy

For months...not sure how many....Drew has been asking to sit on the potty. I think he thought by merely sitting there, he was going to the bathroom. Ha! So we haven't rushed him and let him go through the motions. Yesterday morning, I noticed his diaper was dry when he got up. We quickly headed to the bathroom. His face was priceless when he actually went potty on the potty. He was so proud of himself! He did #1 a few more times throughout the day and he even did #2 twice. What a day! We're not running out to buy pull ups just yet. I bought the biggest box of diapers ever last week because of a sale. We're close to halfway through it. As much as diapers are a hassle for potty training, I'm not wasting one. Mr. Drew will be in training pants soon enough.....or maybe he'll be good enough to go straight to underwear. That would be amazing (economically speaking), but kinda sad as our baby takes another step towards not being a baby.

We hiked the trails of Lichterman Nature Center today. The boys were so excited that Melody joined us. 

Visitors from Disneyland

Linda, Becca, and Jacob are back from spending time in California. So glad they made a pit stop at our house before heading home.

Wait on Dessert?

Well....we found some room for this delicious treat. Waiting until tomorrow was just not an option. Ha! :)

Sunday Supper: Week 2

Sunday Supper happened again this week. We had lil' cheddar meat loaves, from the Pleasant Hills Baptist Church cookbook (Granny & Papa Fouts' church). Sam lovingly calls this "meat love." Ha! We also had green beans, smashed potatoes, and Hawaiian rolls. We're so stuffed, I'm not sure we have room for the strawberry shortcake I had planned. Maybe we'll take a stroll around the block to make some room. :)

More Fireworks

Sam and I talked Drew into another fireworks show tonight. We haven't even been able to talk about fireworks around him...he says they scare him to death. Poor buddy! Well, Drew conquered his fear tonight. He was apprehensive at first, but he had a sweet brother to hold his hand. Awww! We didn't actually go to the celebration but watched right from the car.
