Still Five...
Sam officially turns six in about an hour. The past 6 years have gone by in a blink. Nick and I found ourselves reminiscing this past week about what we were doing this time six years ago. Samuel Nicolas has blessed our lives immensely. Our sweet boy is smart, kind, creative, thoughtful, outgoing, funny, spiritual, musical, artistic, friendly....we could go on and on about our Sam. I have been teasing Sam the past few days that I was not ready for him to get older. Before going to bed, he told me that all his friends would know him as being 6, but he would stay 5 for me. Sweet, Sweet Sam!

Snow, Snow, Snow!!!
The last time it snowed this much in March was on the 2nd in 2009....4 days before Sam arrived. :) Once we got out in the snow, it looked like we got closer to 6 inches. We made lots of snow angels and a few snowballs. The snow was light and fluffy. We weren't able to make a snowman. Just walking around in it was fun. We only stayed out for about 25 minutes because the wind chill was 5 degrees! We may go back out later. We may explore in the backyard. Nick and I gave Sam the inside scoop on snow that is not white. He knows why you stay away from yellow and brown snow. Ha! We're all pretty tired after our awesome time in the snow. I think we might be ready for naps. Thank goodness for snow days...especially ones that we actually get snow. :)
Potty Time
For the past few weeks, Drew has been showing an interest in going potty. He has been sitting on the toilet with a potty seat. He has been asking to go potty a lot lately. We pulled out Sam's frog potty last night. Nothing has happened yet, but he sure likes sitting on the potty. :)
Checking It Out
We finally got more than a dusting! We got about an inch and a half of ice and then about 4 inches on top of that. The wind is still blowing like crazy causing snow drifts that are 6-8 inches! It is still snowing, but that should come to an end within the next half hour. Yankee was scared to go potty this morning. I had to put my boots on and walk him out. I didn't mind though. :) I woke Sam up @ 5:30am and told him he had a birthday present outside. I would bet we will be out of school tomorrow too. Sam will have to celebrate with his classmates on Monday. I sure hope the snow and ice don't interfere with his party on Saturday. We will see. More pictures to come as we venture out into this winter wonderland. :)
Snow Day #7...the Blizzard
The snow is coming down hard in Arlington! Can't wait for the kiddos to get up and play. I'll post how much snow we end up with when the sun comes up.
