Pp is for Pumpkin

We visited Jones Orchard this morning.Sam walked up and down the aisles of pumpkins carefully inspecting each one until he found the perfect one for him. They were just beautiful!  It was so educational for Sam to see the yellow flowers that grow into yellow and green melons and then turn into gorgeous orange pumpkins. After spending some time with his cousins choosing pumpkins,  Sam got to pick pears. He even ate one right off the tree....yummy. What a fun fall day!

We Love the Zoo!

Sam wanted to go to the zoo this morning.  We bundled up and headed that way bright and early. The temperature was about 60 degrees. If it would have been any cooler, we would have needed jackets. Sam and Drew had a blast. I carried Drew so he could see the animals. I couldn't believe how good Sam was.  He stayed right with me and was a big help with Drew. It was fun to see how Drew reacted to the different sights and sounds. Sam's favorite animal was the baby Bonobo who was nursing.  His mama brought him over and we got a close look at him. I couldn't get my camera out fast enough.  Sam also took enjoyment in watching the bonobos that were "exercising." Yikes, he had lots of questions about that. Thank goodness I was able to get him to move onto another exhibit. Sam also enjoyed the sea lion show. It's been a while since we saw that.

Feeling Better

Drew was fever free through the night.  He slept in the pack n play next to me. He stirred a few times, but he slept well for most of the night. He woke up in a great mood. He was ready to nurse and then we tried some new solids.  I picked up some sweet potatoes and squash yesterday.  Sam wanted Drew to try the squash first. Drew ate it, but he didn't like it too much. I don't blame him....it was stinky. :( We'll try something else in a few days. So glad little Drew is feeling better. :)

Sick Baby

Drew woke up last night with high fever. He was very uncomfortable and had a hard time sleeping....quite pitiful.  At first we thought it was teething, but got worried when his fever started approaching 103. We took him to the doctor first thing this morning. He is definitely sick, we just don't know if it's viral or bacterial.  We gotta watch him close over the next 24 hours. Poor buddy!

Dragon Dash

We had the Dragon Dash at school last Friday.  I wasn't able to make it down to see Sam, but another parent just sent me these. He had a blast! His running partner was the principal.  She has a strong connection with Sam.

Lil Buddies

Sam was sad to say good-bye to one of his little buddies yesterday. They sure have fun at school.

Ready Baby!

Drew Asher is ready for Halloween!  I told his teachers to get ready, because he would be wearing cute Halloween stuff all month. We might as well get a few wears out of this while we can. Super cute, huh! He glows in the dark too. Sam wasn't quite ready to wear his Halloween shirts yet. :) This is not Drew's official costume. We will save that one for the 31st.

Man on the Move

Gone are the days of rolling up blankets on either side of Drew. He has entered a phase where he will kick all blankets off and away from him. Check out the pictures I snapped through the night of him slowly making a 360 turn in his bed. I also noticed that he likes to have a hand on his mouth or over his eyes. Some nights he wants his pacifier,  while other nights he'll go all night without it. In case you're wondering,  I usually only look at the monitor in the night if Drew makes noise...I'm on cold medicine that's making it difficult to sleep. :/
*The pictures are posting a bit out of order. I think you get the picture. :)
