7 Ounce Gain

Just took Drew for a weigh in at the doctor.  He weighs 7lb 2oz...a 7oz gain since last week. Good Boy Drew!

Practice Session

The weather held out long enough today for Sam to get some practice time in on his bike. He had a few falls,  but he kept getting back on the bike.  :) Drew was enjoying his time in the fresh air too. He was a little upset when Sam was ready to go...he wasn't quite ready yet. Sam helped burp him when we got home. Sweet brothers!

Story Time

We've had a wonderful day today! We're calling it a night early. We'll see how long Drew sleeps tonight. :) Looking forward to another restful day tomorrow.  We may have to wait another couple of days to do all the outdoor activities Sam had planned...riding his bike, flying a kite, having a picnic, playing with his soccer goals, and getting his summer sandbox set up....another dry day.

Bike Boy

We have been talking about getting Sam a bike for a while now. Sam mentioned recently that he didn't want a new bike because he had one in the garage. Well, he was right. About a year ago, my brother Stephen passed a bike onto us. It was too big for Sam at the time and the training wheels didn't fit well. Anyway,  we had forgotten about that bike....but not Sam. :) Nick measured it this morning and went to buy training  wheels for it. Sam and I picked out a helmet and padding. He only got a moment on the bike this afternoon because the rain arrived.  I'll get a shot of him riding the next time. :)

Chunky Lil' Bear

Look how chunky those sweet cheeks look this morning!  We cover his hands at night to keep them warm and to keep him from scratching himself. Drew no longer likes his arms swaddled...unless you are holding him. He will fight and fight and grunt and grunt until they are free. Nick and I had a very interesting night...Drew woke up ever 2 hours to eat. We fed him 3oz each time, but that just didn't hold sweet Drew longer than two. Amazing Nick woke up for every feeding while I pumped. Drew is such a sleepy eater at night, that it takes him  too long to get the job done. Pumping at night seems to work better now until he gets bigger. We may try something a little different tonight to see if Drew can hold off a bit longer between feedings. Good thing he's cute! :) Nick got a kick out of me deliriously shushing the monitor each time Drew made a noise. I even told the monitor that it would be okay. Ha! We are quickly approaching Drew's one month b-day....so hard to believe!  Today we have had Drew Asher at home for 2 weeks.

Drew's 1st Bath

We have putting off giving Drew a bath for a while now. Well, tonight was the big night.....and he HATED it. :( It lasted all of 4 minutes from start to finish and he cried the whole time. Poor little buddy! We had a space heater in there to control the room temperature and tested the bath water temp. I went as fast as I could. Maybe the next bath will be more enjoyable for Drew. 

A Bit of the Blues :(

My hormones have been a bit out of whack the past couple of days. Nothing too crazy...just a little weepy and super tired. I feel MUCH better today! Drew accompanied me to the hair salon this morning while I enjoyed some pampering. :) It was rainy all day today, so Drew and I enjoyed some extra snuggle time. We are looking forward to a relaxing weekend with Nick and Sam.  Since Sam did so well at school this week,  we are making pizza and ice cream sundaes tonight.
